THE STABLES

Wheelus Riding Stables were situated close to the East Gate and were used by personnel and dependants. The stables were originally built by Sgt Dale George and a colleague and were used for the housing and riding of horses.

The site contained an enclosed riding area and a variety of cross-rail jumps, which were enjoyed by adults and children alike.

Also on site was a club lounge and bar that had a live western band playing during the evening.
