INDEPENDENCE DAY Celebrations

American Independence Day was highly celebrated at Wheelus Airforce Base. The celebrations took place on the beach, where everyone gathered for the ritual fourth of July picnic. There were camel rides, amusements, sports day activities with races and contests for the children, while the adults enjoyed their own games, including wheelbarrow racing and horseshoe pitching. Due to the amazing weather and location, swimming, sunbathing and eating were all part of the festivities, which ended with a many themed firework display, one of which being in the design of the Stars and Stripes.
